Bloom
Privacy Policy
last updated · May 13, 2026
This is the privacy policy for Bloom (the “App”), an iPhone application for tracking daily fertility-optimization habits, lab markers, and cycle data. Bloom is operated by One Quark Media LLC, a California limited liability company based in San Francisco (“we,” “us,” “our”).
We’ve tried to write this in plain English. Where we use a legal term, we explain what it means.
TL;DR
- Bloom does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on any server we operate.
- Everything you track lives on your device only, in the App’s local database.
- Bloom has no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs, no account system, and no ads.
- With your permission, Bloom reads a small set of HealthKit values (basal body temperature, sleep, heart-rate variability) and can write basal body temperature back. HealthKit data is processed on your device and is never sent to us.
- Bloom schedules local notifications (a daily check-in reminder and lab-retest reminders) entirely on your device. There is no push server.
- The Swaps & Exposures section may contain affiliate links to brand websites. Tapping one opens that brand’s site, which runs its own analytics.
What we collect
Nothing. Bloom has no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs, and no account system.
The App stores the following on your device only, in the App’s local SwiftData store inside the iOS-managed sandbox:
- Your habits and daily habit completions
- Lab results you enter (marker, value, date) and their trend history
- Cycle data — cycle day, basal body temperature, detected phase, and urinary hormone readings you log
- Clinic-prep content — doctor questions and the answers you record, plus your library notes
- Exposures you log in Swaps & Exposures, and any products you add
- Your reminder times and other in-app settings
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of this. There is no copy elsewhere because we never sent one.
HealthKit
If you grant permission, Bloom uses Apple’s HealthKit framework to:
- Read basal body temperature, sleep analysis, and heart-rate variability, so the Today and Cycle screens can reflect data you’ve already recorded elsewhere
- Write basal body temperature you enter in Bloom back to the Health app, so it stays consistent across your apps
HealthKit data is read and processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Bloom does not use HealthKit data for advertising and does not share it.
You can review or revoke Bloom’s HealthKit access any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Bloom. Bloom continues to work without HealthKit access — you can enter basal body temperature and other values manually.
Notifications
With your permission, Bloom schedules local notifications — a daily check-in reminder at a time you choose, and retest reminders for lab markers that have a recommended retest interval. These are scheduled and delivered by iOS on your device. Bloom has no push server and sends nothing over the network to deliver them.
You can disable notifications in Settings → Bloom → Notifications or by turning off reminders inside the App.
Affiliate links
The Swaps & Exposures section provides guidance on lower-exposure product categories and can include links to specific products. Some of these are affiliate links, and some carry a discount code. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Bloom shows an affiliate disclosure the first time you open that section.
When you tap an affiliate or product link, the App opens the brand’s website in an in-app browser (Safari View Controller). The brand operates that website and may collect its own analytics; we are not party to that.
Purchases
This version of Bloom is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If that changes in a future version, we will update this policy before any paid feature ships.
Children
Bloom is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The App is intended for adults tracking their own fertility-related habits and health data.
Sharing with third parties
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. The only third parties involved in the operation of the App are:
- Apple — App distribution, and the HealthKit and notification frameworks that run on your device
- The brand websites you choose to visit by tapping a link in Swaps & Exposures
Your rights
Because we do not collect any data, there is no profile to access, delete, or export from our side. To delete all locally stored Bloom data, uninstall the App.
If you live in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and have a question about this policy, contact us at the address below.
Security
All data is stored in the App’s sandbox, protected by iOS file-system isolation. iOS will encrypt the device contents if you have a device passcode set, which we strongly recommend.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and surface the change in the App when you next open it.
